Welcome to our website
In April, 2006 Lae Game Fishing Club hosted the highly successful 31st GFAPNG National Titles - click here to be taken to the Titles website. |

Newsletter - June’07.
Congratulations to all anglers for your catches and points in the recent June competition, full details on page 2. “May the fishing gods be kind to all anglers.”
Things to Remember;
- Tomorrow, Saturday 30th June is the last day of our current fishing year for annual 2006-2007 points score! Those anglers vying for trophies should be out nice and early on Saturday and ensure your capture cards/certificates are correctly completed, dated and back in the box that night.
- Members are reminded of a previously carried motion to bring the LGFC in line with the GFAPNG 50 point, fish weighing rule.
Effective this Sunday, 1st July (start of the LFGC 2007-08 fishing year) all fish for weighing must weigh a minimum of 50% of its respective capture line class. (Club weigh-masters please take note.)
Example; A landed fish caught on 10kg line must now weigh a min of 5kg or more to be eligible for weighed points! It makes you stop & think!
- As advised previously the LGFC does not allocate tagging points to any species of Trevally or Triple Tail. Please do not lodge tagging cards or certificates for these tagged fish species, only weighed fish at min 50%.
- LGFC local rule regarding maximum number of tagged fish per species.
Maximum number per species is 5, per monthly competition, per angler.
Dates to Remember:
- Saturday August 18th, LGFC Presentation of Trophies at LYC.
- Tuesday August 21th, LGFC Annual General Meeting at LYC.
- Next competition is the “K.K. Kingston 3 Day Remembrance Day Comp”, 21st-22nd-23rd July. Be there!!!

Winners from the June fishing competition, There were 22 boats fishing in the competition over the three days with 120 fish in the capture reports showing that the fish are back in the Huon Gulf.

Lester's Corner
The floodgates have opened and the first of Lester's inimitable fishing yarns (Mako Chaos & Mama Makaira) join the excellent contributions from Barry Mallett and Kerry & Daniel King on the 'Ol Liklik Stori' page. Following closely we will have - 'Tya Tya the Irresistible' (the amazing Arabian Pike Eel, an inhabitant of our river mouths) and a flight of poetic fancy 'The Tide Line'.
