Someone out there knows - please tell us & everyone! - Pat?

We have a tantalizing snippet of email, signed by Pat, saying "How are things in PNG? Check the Marlin, it was caught by the locals in a 16 Ft tinny. They had to tie it to the side of the boat for the trip home, three of them sat on the other side to balance the boat! 473kgs gutted, not a bad fish!"

We agree - not a bad fish at all - but where? and any more stori?

June 28, 2005 - John Cross advises he has tracked it down to Vanuatu and is working on getting the nitty gritty - thanks John.

"It was caught by locals fishing off Devils Point (Vanuatu) on an Alvey winch with VERY heavy duty mono, about 2 months ago. There are not that many black marlin. Lots of blue marlin. last month there was another record. A 260kg+ blue marlin was bagged on a speargun at the fad. Largest marlin ever on a speargun.
