October 2003 Newsletter
Greetings one and all, we have quite a lot of information for you this issue. Firstly, a special thank you to the Plumtrade men, Rod, Ian, Plum-Bob, Tony and Burky for their sponsorship of the September competition. Thanks for your great support and magnificent prizes!
The committee has been working on a number of issues some are detailed in this edition. FADs have been inspected, both need work which will be done during the next month so too the positioning of a third FAD before Xmas.
The October monthly competition is sponsored by Orica, please note the briefing night and the attached comp notice. Get involved and participate, its for you!

There will be a sponsor’s briefing night next Thursday 23rd at 1800hrs on the viewing deck at the LYC. Will all anglers/members please come along and participate, the club will donate a keg for refreshments.

- LGFC Hand Book. (If Required)
- GFA Record Book.
- Check out the notice of competition & rules on the notice board.

Through the kind efforts of Speedy Kiwi Signs we will soon have our new LGFC wall map in place by end November. This map is a similar style to that at the old LYC ramp however will be approx 3.5m x 3.5m, high on the inside wall of the LYC Club House adjacent to the kitchen area.
This project is slowly coming together and plans are to have a cabinet in place before Easter.
Ineka Hunter is co-ordinating this activity for juniors. Kicking off on the afternoon of Saturday 6th December it will initially be for member’s children and no doubt a few friends.
The format is not yet decided, we are however pleased to advise members we have secured a sponsor in Ling’s Freezer who have bought 20 x Shimano Combo Rigs for the juniors!

Frequently Asked Questions:
Where do I get a capture book?
Capture books are available at a very reasonable cost from Lae Battery Services.
Who can witness a captured-tagged fish?
Anybody, the hand book states ‘if there is no witness, the word of the member can be accepted in good faith.
Where do I get tags and applicators?
Tags and applicators are available free from Lae Battery Services (supplied by NSW Fisheries).
LGFC Handbooks?
The old books are available from the Secretary (pick one up on Thursday), a new version is being printed in the new year.
Do I have to be in a LGFC registered boat to register a captured-tagged fish?
LGFC do not register boats, that is the LYC’s job. Captures can be anywhere in LGFC waters (see handbook) not necessarily from a boat, land is ok!
